1. Go to the following VirtueMart Downloads Page and download the complete VirtueMart package for Joomla 1.5 in zip form.

2. Once downloaded extract all the files from this zip folder.You should now see three folders : (1) modules folder - unzipped (2) plugins folder - unzipped (3) com_virtuemart_1.1.4.j15 - zipped folder.

3. Login to the administration end of your Joomla website.The url for this login can cause a little confusion for novice users of joomla but it will always be the following url :

www.yourwebsitename.com/administrator/index.php

The /administrator/index.php ending will always be the extension to your url when you need to login.

4. In your Joomla administration panel menu at the top you will see Extensions.Scroll down to Install / Uninstall and click on it.You will see Upload Package File and a Browse button.By clicking on the browse button you will be able to navigate to the files on your own computer.Navigate to the com_virtuemart_1.1.4.j15 - zipped folder and click on Upload File & Install beside the browse button.Within the space of 15-30 seconds you should see the VirtueMart install success page.It will ask you if you want to install sample data ? .If you have no idea of how VirtueMart functions or works,  well then do install the sample data by clicking on the install sample data button, because this sample data will give you an idea of what VirtueMart is all about.

5. Once you have clicked on either the continue ( no sample data installed ) or install sample data button it will take another 30 or so seconds for the main VirtueMart component to be installed, and when it is you will see the VirtueMart control panel.However, you are still not finished because we now need to install the individual modules and plugins separately.

6. Go to Extensions, scroll down to Install / Uninstall, and click on it.You will again see Upload Package File and the browse button.Navigate to the VirtueMart modules - unzipped folder on your computer and upload each individual zipped module separetely ( about 12 in total ) and do the same with the plugins folder ( about 2 in total ) .Thats it, your finished.
